With every major award show, the talk at the water cooler always falls on the nights big wins, the amazing (or not so amazing) performances and most often, the fashion. Same goes with the MTV Video Music Awards, where the stars come out in some of their most memorable looks.
Take a look at some of this year's fashion winners and losers as well as the jewels that make or break their looks inside.
Queen Beyonce, or I should say Mama Bey looked stunning in a one-shouldered tangerine dress by Lavin which complimented her glowing skin and new baby bump. Her platinum and emerald jewelry was by Lorraine Schwartz.
The VMA's paid tribute to pop princess Britney Spears who wore a cute black Moschino dress with Suzanne Felsen earrings.
A pink haired Katy Perry wore this delicious Asian inspired mini dress by Atelier Versace with hot pink Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Justin Bieber wore a vintage YSL jacket and cheetah printed sneakers with gold accessories, including a YSL broach. There was also his pet snake... Johnson.
Selena Gomez was one of my favorite looks in a leggy, but very sophisticated Julian McDonald gown with gold Brian Atwood pumps and matching Judith Leiber clutch.
Rapper Big Sean hit the carpet with his lovely mom wearing a laid back look with two gold Jesus pieces and a giant Versace belt.
"DO IT".
Best New Artist Nominee Kreayshawn looked... interesting in a sequin Mickey Mouse ensemble and giant gold bamboo earrings.
No Gucci, Louis, Fendi, nor Prada as promised.
I'm not sure whats going on here with Lil Mama.
Miley Cyrus has been rocking some very mature looks on the red carpet these days and the VMA's was no exception. She wore a floor length Robert Cavalli dress with earrings by Elodie K.
"Hello Nicki" didn't go for the bling this go-round, but instead opted for colorful accessories by Onch Movement and a cute surgical mask by Japanese designer Shojono Tomo. I can't help but to love her for this insane outfit.
Party rock was in the house last night. LMFAO's SkyBlu wore a huge rhinestone pendant featuring his twitter name. Would have been kind of awesome if it were real. And Redfoo gave us a little Bootsie Collins swag. These guys are nuts!
Our boy Tyga hit the carpet in a colorful printed Versace shirt with his signature "Last Kings" pendant made by Jason of Beverly Hills. See HERE.
Great show this year! ~vK
Half of these "stars" look like idiots. Selena Gomez and Beyonce look appropriate.
