When it comes to gambling, we've all heard the phrase, "always bet on black". It's actually become a personal mantra of mine after a number of successful trips to Vegas. But soon some lucky high roller will be able to say that he always bets on.... Mike?
As odd as it sound's (and by odd, I mean extremely high on the WTF meter) a sample of the late Michael Jackson's hair is being used to create a one-off roulette ball. The confirmed lock of hair was acquired through an online Michael Jackson memorabilia auction and is currently owned by gaming company OnlineGamblingPal.com. The lock of hair fetched for the sum of $10,871 dollars and the gaming company is reportedly moving forward with plans to manufacture a regulation style roulette ball to be used publicly at casinos. Really?
"The
sample of hair was collected at New York’s Carlyle Hotel, where Jackson had
been staying while attending a charity event.
As its proud new owners, we have decided to convert Michael Jackson’s hair into a roulette ball – an appropriately unique way to immortalize a small part of a truly peerless entertainer. The ball itself will be made to the highest professional standards, ensuring it will be eligible for use at any licensed casino’s roulette table. Indeed, considering Jackson dedicated his life to entertaining millions, the prospect of this very special ball captivating crowds at roulette tables seems like a fitting use for it."

I'm gonna take a gamble and say that diehard MJ fans will agree that this is a little too soon. Granted, it's not like they took a forensic sample from Michael on his death bed, but the idea playing roulette with my favorite dead idols hair is a bit creepy.
Good thing Mike never left any loose teeth lying around. The thought of a matching set of dice to shoot craps with...just weird ~vK
