Fit For a Princess: DIANA Exhibit

In terms of fashion, Princess Diana is known for her sense of style as much as she is for her inviting smile. Now, for those who want to reminisce on the glamorous looks of the late Princess of Wales, five of her most iconic gowns will be displayed next year at the Kensington Palace in London.
One of the looks that is already making headlines, is her famous strapless, black silk Emmanuel gown that the then 19 year old, and newly engaged Diana wore during her first public outing with Prince Charles. See more of the gorgeous looks inside.

Taylor Jewelry Auction Shatters Records

Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry stash is making headlines again after raking in over 115 million dollars is sales during the Christies auction this week.
Taylor's treasured pieces were expected to go for hefty numbers, but with the sale of such items as as "La Peregrina", her famous pearl, diamond and ruby necklace, and her 33-carat diamond ring, the final tab exceeded previous estimates, in many cases, by the millions. In a recent statement, the collection has already broke many world records including the highest bid for pearl jewelry, the per carat price for a colorless diamond, the price for an Indian jewel, and a ruby per carat.
The Queen of Diamonds reign just wont let up!

Michael Jackson Hair Immortalized in Roulette Ball?

When it comes to gambling, we've all heard the phrase, "always bet on black". It's actually become a personal mantra of mine after a number of successful trips to Vegas. But soon some lucky high roller will be able to say that he always bets on.... Mike?
As odd as it sound's (and by odd, I mean extremely high on the WTF meter) a sample of the late Michael Jackson's hair is being used to create a one-off roulette ball. The confirmed lock of hair was acquired through an online Michael Jackson memorabilia auction and is currently owned by gaming company OnlineGamblingPal.com. The lock of hair fetched for the sum of $10,871 dollars and the gaming company is reportedly moving forward with plans to manufacture a regulation style roulette ball to be used publicly at casinos. Really?

"Golden Eye" Diamond to be Auctioned

We'll start the bidding at 900,000...
An insanely large and equally beautiful yellow diamond, seized by the US government after a money laundering investigation, went on the auction block today.
The 43.51 carat cushion cut "Golden Eye" diamond is an internally flawless, intense fancy yellow diamond, making it one of the most rare of its kind in the world. It was believed to have come from the Kimberley area of South Africa and somehow found its way into the hands of Ohio businessman Paul Monea. If the name sounds familiar (...) he's the guy who made millions after making the super popular ads for Billy Blanks during the Tae Bo crazy in the late 90's.
Monea is currently serving a 13 year prison sentence for his involvement in the money laundering bust, while the US Marshal service is set to make a huge payday after auctioning of the diamond which is believed to be worth 15-20 million dollars.

Taylor's $150 M Dollar Jewelry Collection to be Auctioned for AIDS Charities

After learning of the passing of Elizabeth Taylor, I scoured the internet to revisit the many iconic images of her in addition to clips from her most memorable movie scenes and loving tributes to her by her fans. Naturally, a reoccurring theme amongst the images were the countless necklaces, rings and dazzling diamonds that were her trademark. Diamonds were her wardrobe.
It's hard to put a price tag on some of the most precious possessions of the icon, but her rivaled collection of jewels have a reported worth of over 150 million dollars. My Fox in Chicago reports that her jewelry will likely go up for auction with the bulk of the proceeds going to support her AIDS foundation as well as the American Foundation for AIDS research. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate her memory.
