Close Ups: M. Sturman Jewelry Featured in Sex and the City Movie

To say that I have a mild case of "Carrie Fever", is probably the understatement of the day.
As I'm counting the days until the new Sex and the City Movie is released, I've been keeping an eye out for the lastest fashions that are slated to be donned in the flick; including some interseting jewelry picks.
M. Sturman Jewelry has reportedly sent over samples from their line of beaded necklaces that are expected to make the cut for the new SATC movie. Now, which one of the fab foursome will be wearing these necklaces remians to be seen, but I'll certainly be keeping a close watch.

These two necklaces are also said to have been sent to the movie set.
I'm thinking Miranda for these, but the pearls are screaming Carrie. ~vK

Jewelry Watch: American Music Awards

In case you missed the fab looks at the American Music Awards last night, the stars hit the red carpet wearing some serious arsenal.
Here's a look at some of the dazzling divas in diamonds.

Comeback queen Whitney Houston was dripping in platinum and white diamonds by Neil Lane.

American Idol's Paula Abdul went a little over-kill on with her diamond and garnet mixed bracelets, but it was a good look overall.
Fashionista Rihanna was hard core with her black and white diamond rings and some beautiful diamond stud earrings.
Shakira was hot in this gorgeous yellow number. I would have lost maybe two or three pieces of jewelry with this look though.
Mary J Blige killed her performance in some amazing pieces.
Update: MJB reportedly rocked $800,000 worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Nice!

Adam Lambert rocked what looked alot like the Alexander McQueen four finger ring.
Entertainment Tonight's Julie Moran wore a

stunning diamond necklace. WORK.
Poor J Lo....
Ferga-licious had an icy performance with the Black Eyed Peas.
And finally, the lovely Miss Alica Keys went with a pair of cute diamond earrings and bangles with her hot blue number.

Great looks guys! ~vK

Birthstone: November

TOPAZ vs CITRINE
Believed by the Egyptians to posses a glow casted by Ra the Sun God, is the November birthstone Topaz.
Meaning "fire" in Sanskrit, Topaz are most popular for their rich yellowish orange color, as not many gemstones come in yellow hues in Nature. These gems have been found in very large sizes weighing several hundred of pounds although they are still pretty rare.
One of the most famous colorless topaz, was said to be so spectacular that is was set in the Portuguese crown jewels because it was mistaken for a 1680 carat diamond. Years later, it was found that the joke was one them.

Another mistake that is often made among gemstones is Novembers alternate yellow birthstone, the Citrine. Years ago, there was a rapid growth in popularity of the lemon colored gemstones by the European bourgeoisie. They wanted flashy, elaborate baubles containing what is called Golden or Smoky Topaz, when in fact, these were merely treated citrine. Around the middle of the 18th century, it was discovered that amethyst could be heated to very high temperatures to create the look of yellow citrine, thus starting the trend.
With most jewelry, only a trained eye can spot the difference between a topaz and a natural yellow citrine (burnt citrine contains a suble striped look and can be considerably less expensive than topaz).

Here's a shot of the beautiful actress/model Milla Jovovich at the premiere of her movie The Perfect Getaway wearing a stunning citrine necklace.
I'm not particularly in love with it paired with her outfit. I would have liked to see her in maybe a pale blue topaz piece to set off those amazing eyes of hers. Still a decent look though. ~vK

Whip-Appeal: Koenigsegg Trevista 2010

Earlier this year, we introduced the NLV Quant, a Swedish manufactured concept, super car. Very nice.
Well, the guys over at Koenigsegg have once again stepped their game up.
WAY up.
Claiming the title of the world's most expensive super car, the new Koenigsegg Trevista 2010 carries a price tag of 5 million dollars and has a very impressive new feature; Diamond Dust.

Press Release
When sunlight hits the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevitas, it sparkles like millions of silvery white diamonds infused inside the visible carbon fiber weave bodywork.
Trevita is an abbreviation in Swedish and translates into - three whites. The Koenigsegg visible carbon weave body work is renowned around the globe for its perfection and uniqueness. However, so far it has only been possible to utilize the classic black carbon fibres.

As Koenigsegg always strives to create new unique technologies and solutions, we have now reached a new milestone - The Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave. By utilising a new and unique method, Koenigsegg has managed to coat fibers with a diamond finish. The process was fully developed at Koenigsegg headquarters in Ängelholm Sweden, where the fiber treatment is conducted carefully in small quantities, prior to further processing the prepreg material.Koenigsegg will only produce three Koenigsegg CCXR Trevitas in total, hence the name. This makes the Trevita one of the most rare versions in the Koenigsegg family cars.

The three cars are fully equipped with Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave bodywork, double carbon wing, paddle-shift, inconell exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, hydraulic lifting system, infotainment system, tyre monitoring system, chrono instrument cluster and airbags.

So, I've picked out my Trevista. Wonder who will take the other two? ~vK

Hot Items: "Couture" Ring

cou-ture- (kōō-tŏŏr', -tür')
being, having, or suggesting the style, quality, etc., of a fashion designer; very fashionable: the couture look.

Fashionistas, this one is a must. My new favorite from the extensive ring collection by JBH is the "Couture" two finger ring. Bring out your inner diva with this charming "say something" piece. The flawless white diamonds on white gold will light up your fingers and speak for itself.

And be certain to wear it on your right hand... To avoid the grip contest, also known as the inappropriately firm, which i absolutely hate! "Hollywood handshake", simply offer a dainty hand covered in diamonds that begs to be kissed. ~vK
