I Challenge You

-Jason Arasheben
CEO Jason of Beverly Hills
I challenge you!
From the time I was a snotty nosed 8-year old, I always looked for challenges to inspire me; nothing has changed since. It's a great challenge that gets me up each morning when I know I’d rather slam the snooze button another 73 times!

Thousands of pieces of diamond jewelry go in and out of my factory each year. The ordinary requests of tennis bracelets and diamond stud earrings are great, but nearly every mom and pop jewelry store could make it with one finger up their nose and one eye closed. I need a challenge! Clients come and go, but once every blue moon a client peeks my interest and commissions me to do something creative, something out of the box, in other words… A CHALLENGE!!!
I LOVE IT!!!
This week’s challenge: an Egyptian tomb pendant adorned with black, cognac and white diamonds with a removable white diamond mummy that can be worn as a separate piece. Challenge accepted.

Who's next? -JA

Fit For a Princess: DIANA Exhibit

In terms of fashion, Princess Diana is known for her sense of style as much as she is for her inviting smile. Now, for those who want to reminisce on the glamorous looks of the late Princess of Wales, five of her most iconic gowns will be displayed next year at the Kensington Palace in London.
One of the looks that is already making headlines, is her famous strapless, black silk Emmanuel gown that the then 19 year old, and newly engaged Diana wore during her first public outing with Prince Charles. See more of the gorgeous looks inside.

Passing Trends

David Beckham early 2000

-Jason Arasheben
CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills
When it comes to today's growing trends, there’s one adage that always holds true; The quicker the rise the harder the fall! This is most evident with fashion trends. From bell bottoms, to "Cross Color Jeans", to throwback jerseys; all fashion trends that witness meteoric rise quickly, suffer for it and become laughable just a few years later.
And guess what? Jewelry is no exception!

Taylor Jewelry Auction Shatters Records

Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry stash is making headlines again after raking in over 115 million dollars is sales during the Christies auction this week.
Taylor's treasured pieces were expected to go for hefty numbers, but with the sale of such items as as "La Peregrina", her famous pearl, diamond and ruby necklace, and her 33-carat diamond ring, the final tab exceeded previous estimates, in many cases, by the millions. In a recent statement, the collection has already broke many world records including the highest bid for pearl jewelry, the per carat price for a colorless diamond, the price for an Indian jewel, and a ruby per carat.
The Queen of Diamonds reign just wont let up!

Michael Jackson Hair Immortalized in Roulette Ball?

When it comes to gambling, we've all heard the phrase, "always bet on black". It's actually become a personal mantra of mine after a number of successful trips to Vegas. But soon some lucky high roller will be able to say that he always bets on.... Mike?
As odd as it sound's (and by odd, I mean extremely high on the WTF meter) a sample of the late Michael Jackson's hair is being used to create a one-off roulette ball. The confirmed lock of hair was acquired through an online Michael Jackson memorabilia auction and is currently owned by gaming company OnlineGamblingPal.com. The lock of hair fetched for the sum of $10,871 dollars and the gaming company is reportedly moving forward with plans to manufacture a regulation style roulette ball to be used publicly at casinos. Really?

My Jealous Mistress

Jason Arasheben-
Today I've made the decision to reveal the identity of my jealous mistress.
We have had an ongoing relationship for nearly nine years now. There's not a second that goes by when I'm not thinking about her. No matter where I turn, she doesn't escape my mind. My wife inevitably became suspicious, but she eventually learned to except it. The only problem with my mistress, is that she is overtly jealous and often steals my time away from my wife and our 2 kids. She always keeps me on my toes.
At the end of the day, there's one major rule that applies to our relationship: If I were to ever neglect her or fail to put in maximum effort to please her, without a doubt, she would stab me in the back with a rusty butchers knife!
Today is the day that I finally let everyone know the name of my mistress. My jealous mistress is ................... JBH the brand, the business, my clients!

50 Greatest Hip Hop Chains

On the topic of the greatest chains in hip-hop, there's one name that you are guaranteed to hear when it comes to the person responsible for these creations, and that's Jason of Beverly Hills.
Within the hip-hop culture, creativity and individuality in one's chain is essential. For some, it's all about size, others quality or design. In Complex Magazine's Top 50 Greatest Chains in Hip-Hop, jeweler Ben Baller breaks down his list of the chains that not only stand out, but posses a creative element that makes the artists who don them shine brighter than their peers.
Coming in at an impressive #4 on the list is the famous "CRUNK AIN'T DEAD" piece by none other than Jason of Beverly Hills. Baller notes the overall quality of the piece goes further to mention the pendant's record breaking size that landed it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest real diamond pendant in the world.
Check out who else made the list inside.

Game, Set, UNmatch

Enough with all this matching.
I just returned from a 4 day business trip, and I can't help but notice people's infatuation with obsessively matching when it comes to their wardrobe. The belt matches the socks, the shirt matches the tie, the jacket matches the pants.
Uhhhhh...WHY? Because a 60yr old sales clerk from JC Penny's has set the tone for today's fashion? People match because it gives them a guideline on how to not look stupid. Its safe. Instead let's try to follow the guidelines that allow you to look like you. Follow the fashion rules that best communicate your personality or how you are feeling. The same principle can be applied to jewelry. Don't be afraid to mismatch metals and stones to give a more eclectic look.
Let's face it, those who set trends are never afraid to take this leap of faith and NOR SHOULD YOU!   Hear are some examples ....

Gavin Rossdale Dines with Diamond Knife

Talk That Talk

How'd this quiet kid make a living by talking? To this day I ask myself that.
Calabasas high school, sophomore year; lunchtime bell rings!
Slick talking classmates are flirting with girls, athletes are trying to outdo each other on the school courts, hippies are busy sneaking into corners smoking marijuana and playing hacky sack... And then there was me.

Brozne Riemann Chair by Craig Van Den Brulle

Made famous for his signature style and his "urban classic" designs, home furnishing mogul, Craig Van Den Brulle, has created a lounge chair that is fit for a king.
Recently included in the VOGUE magazine "Perfectly Extravagant Holiday Gift Guide", the "Riemann Chair" in Gilt Bronze is more like a pricey piece of art than your average accent chair. But unlike Ikea finds, if you own one of these, its highly unlikely that you will run into anyone else with one. The are in limited production with only 15 being made.
Take a look at the specs inside.
