Katy Perry Is Still Killer

Diamonds Are.... Katy (wipes sweat) PERRY!

This upcoming cover shot for Interview Magazine is giving me everything with Katy in this diamond, crystalline bustier and extra vampy make-up. The "Diamond" singer dishes to the hilarious Kristen Wiig in the next issue, which we will sadly have to wait for until March.
Say what you will about her looking "unrecognizable", the girl is looking all kinds of FAB.

Beardgang. Ask About It.

The Beardgang. Say what you will about excessive facial hair, but these guys are growing in numbers. The intimidating stare of a man with a massive beard is known to send some running for the hills. But as they say, you can either 'run with them, or run from them'.
To wear a facial badge of such unbridled self assurance doesn't come easy to all. It's not for everyone. The sad examples of patchy, girlie man beards just go to show the lengths that some will go to achieve such stature. The fact is, that Beardgang 'membership has its privileges', among many include the undeniable fact that the ladies love their ambience.
Now, in spirit of the gang, a diamond pendant has been forged in the likeness of their bearded leader, Adam Goldston by none other than (beardless) jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills. See more after the jump. If you have the FUR.

For Gentlemen Only: John Legend in JBH

One of music's most talented artists on the keys, R&B crooner John Legend has always been a class act all the way down to his fashion sense. He's sought out by photogs on the red carpet often as much as behind the piano for his always dapper looks.
Legend not only certifies his lady-killer style with an amazing tux and a smile, but lately he has taken his suit game up a notch with pieces from The Gentleman's Collection by Jason of Beverly Hills and celebrity stylist David Thomas
He recently attended The Keep Memory Alive Foundation's "Power of Love Gala" celebrating Muhammad Ali's 70th birthday wearing yet another dashing ensemble and this yellow gold and white diamond lapel accessory (shown below).

Icehotel: Diamond Genesis

Not to be confused with ice you'd wear on your neck, but this boutique hotel is just as cold. The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden is the world's first and largest hotel made completely out of, you guessed it...ICE. And a little snow.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by what is probably the sexiest igloo known to man. A North Pole Penthouse, if you will.
This place is complete with ice chandeliers, a full ABSOLUT Icebar (because who doesn't like their vodka on ice?) and even features a suite aptly titled "Diamond Genesis" where you can slip into  a hypodermic coma a reindeer skinned sleeping bag surrounded by giant diamond shaped ice sculptures and the cool night air.
You had me at Ice Bar.

Diamond Art

(Eika Dopludo)

Art can be inspired by anything that strikes the mind as beautiful, unique or profound. Art is everywhere.
You couldn't pick a more perfect muse than diamonds. Not only are they lovely in their own right, but when combined with a creative idea and perhaps a splash of color, they truly shine.
Check out some of these works of art that take their inspiration from the worlds most precious stone.

Jason Arasheben- CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills
A few months ago I was asked to write a review of what jewels to expect to be worn on the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globes. Sounds like a great opportunity right?
Well, after I did some research of past Golden Globes, boredom quickly gave me an open handed pimp slap in the face. I realized that I was wasting my time on this particular award show.
I felt like I was studying 5th grade history all over again. Decrepit old ladies walking down the red carpet wearing the same style jewels my great grandmother wore to my grandmothers wedding. The jewels were flat out boring.
Don't get me wrong, many of the pieces were made with amazing attention to detail and flawless craftsmanship, but I like to be surprised and inspired by something I haven't seen before.

I'm officially turning my efforts to the Grammys. That's more my cup of tea! What do you think? -JA

Rihanna's £100,000 Marilyn Monroe Mosaic

My favorite Rude Gal Rihanna recently decked out her LA pad with a sparkling new piece of artwork inspired by the eternally fabulous Marilyn Monroe. The "Birthday Cake" crooner commissioned British artist Claire Milner to work closely with her interior designers for this 5 foot masterpiece made with 65,000 Swarovski crystals. The price of this piece that truly fit for a diva, is reportedly around £100,000 although the artist says that she has not disclosed an actual number.
Check out the artist Claire Milner inside.

Jason Arasheben- CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills

There's nobody in pop culture that wears his jewelry better than Kanye West-- HANDS DOWN! Much like his music, Ye thinks outside the box with his clothes as well as his jewelry. More importantly he's been consistently versatile with his style throughout his career.

Sometimes he let's the the clothes accessorize the jewels.
And sometimes the jewels are the accessory.
Either way he's not afraid to push the envelope. It's funny how Kanye hit the stage about a year ago with 10 or so yellow gold chains stacked on top of each other and people ripped him to shreds. They immediately went in on the Mr. T jokes only to find themselves a year later wearing the same thing.

I personally can't wait to see where he's headed next as far as jewelry trends. Of course, the jeweler in me would prefer that he actually give me a chance to make the pieces for him. -JA

Birthstone: February AMETHYST

Known to be associated with royalty and wealth for its purple hue, and oddly enough once thought to ward off drunkenness (derived from Greek word "amethystos" meaning "not drunken") the beautiful Amethyst is the official birthstone for those born in February.
The stone is also linked to love charms, as they make great gifts for Valentine's Day which falls in the month of February. Check out more about the amethyst and all is purple majesty inside.
