Red Carpet Fashion: Oscars 2011

Best Dress Couple- Matthew MacConaughey and Camila Alves
Easy. Camila was radiant in her Kaufman Franco dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes. And not only did Matt have the hottest date on the carpet, he also rocked one of the hottest new accessories for men. He gave his immaculately tailored Dolce and Gabbanna suit a finishing touch with a white diamond lapel pin, by Jason of Beverly Hills. A simple addition that works great with any suit.

Best Dressed Couple (Runners Up)- Seal and Heidi Klum
Seal looks cooler than cool, chest exposure and all, but his lovely wife Heidi is doing enough for the both of them with this gorgeous dress by Julien MacDonald with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and Christian Louboutin shoes. Not alot of ladies who could pull off this look; I'm sure it helps being a super model. She looks like some kind of fabulous space diva. Like her dress can only be appreciated fully with 3-d glasses. More is definitely more here.

Worst Dressed Couple- Helena Bonham and Tim Burton
Oh dear. This is not the time for cosplay, or the place for your recylced Renaissance Fair dress, Helena. Such a poor choice on a great actress. They should send her to the guillotine for this "beer wench couture".
And I'm sure Tim's suit is designer, but the slacks fit him like he borrowed them from valet.
(You'll get your car keys back when you return the pants.)

Best Dressed Male- Justin Timberlake
Why? Because it's Justin Timberlake.

Best Dressed Female- (TIE) Hall Berry and Sandra Bullock
Halle Berry has never had a bad day on the red carpet and I dare someone to prove otherwise. She made a tribute to the late Lena Horne in a Marchesa evening gown in the perfect nude shade to compliment her glowing skin. She completed the look with Christian Louboutin shoes. Banger.
I mean, does Sandra ever get it wrong? Last year her shimmering gown by Marchesa was the talk of the red carpet, but she stepped it up again this year in Vera Wang and looks absolutely flawless.
Honorable Mentions- Nicole Kidman and Gweneth Paltrow
Nicole, who manages to always step out looking stunning wore Dior, and Gwen looked chic and classy in a dress from the Calvin Klein Collection.

Show Stopper of the Evening- Jennifer Hudson
The bold color choice was certified winner. I don't recall seeing another tangerine colored gown present, but if there was one, it didn't hit the mark like Jennifer's. She looks fresh in Atelier Versace and her makeup and hair were perfect; I simply could not take my eyes off of her. Well, I couldn't really.

Best Prom Photo- Justin Beiber and Selena Gomez
These two look great, although it's feeling a bit like prom night with the scarlet red handkerchief that matches almost too perfectly with the dress. They both wore Dolce and Gabbana, with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry for the lady. Very cute.
(The new hair cut works Beibs.)

 Most Unnecessarily Random- James Franco
Sometimes a guy just needs a reason to put on a dress, but poor James is doing this look no justice. If this were "Ru Paul's Drag Race", he would be 'lip-syncing for his life'. No ma'am. You need something to accentuate those shoulders...

 Most... Interesting- Cate Balnchet
Cate gave us some couture in Givency with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, and although I do like this dress, it's kinda of reminding me of that dog/dragon from "The Never Ending Story". Not an easy look, but I love it on her.

Most In Need of a Change Up- Oprah Winfrey

I love Oprah. God knows I do. And I do think she looks amazing as usual, but I feel like i've seen this look and silhouette on her at every major award show or event that she has attended in the last 10 years. She does look fab in Zac Posen, but next year, I pray that Her Highness switches it up.

Cute, But Not Quite- Reese Witherspoon
Jenny McCarthy --sorry, Reese Witherspoon didn't look bad in her dress, but she seems to lack that Oscar red carpet luster that some of the other ladies we able to pull off with ease. She wore a nice gown by Giorgio Armani Privé with some very nice jewelry by from Neil Lane, but overall, with the genie ponytail, her look is giving more "Texas Pageant" and less Hollywood starlet. Maybe next year.

Congrats to all of this years winners and nominees. ~vK
