Red Carpet Fashion: Oscars 2011

Best Dress Couple- Matthew MacConaughey and Camila Alves
Easy. Camila was radiant in her Kaufman Franco dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes. And not only did Matt have the hottest date on the carpet, he also rocked one of the hottest new accessories for men. He gave his immaculately tailored Dolce and Gabbanna suit a finishing touch with a white diamond lapel pin, by Jason of Beverly Hills. A simple addition that works great with any suit.

Oscar Gold

Any person who can proudly display an Academy Award of Merit on their mantle would say that it is priceless. In truth, I'd say that the Oscar statuette only costs around 500 to 600 dollars to manufacture, seeing as how it only consists of random metals, specifically alloy, copper and nickel and is merely plated in 24 karat gold.
That's still not too shabby, but if the Academy were to actually hand out Oscars made of pure, solid gold, they would each need their own personal security guard.
See how much the golden boy would cost if he were made completely out of gold at today's ever rising price value, inside.

Lena Horne Jewels and More Up For Auction

A year ago this spring, Miss Lena Horne, one of Hollywood's most precious gems, ascended to the sky amongst the stars...
The memory of this mind numbingly gorgeous and statuesque beauty that graced the silver screen, her cooler-than-satin-sheets voice and her influence on African American culture is enough to make a person squeal. But as of 2pm yesterday, it was announced that Miss Horne left behind a treasure of personal items that are now available to her fans, via Doyle New York.
The affluent auction house and appraiser has put a collection of authentic Lena Horne belongs up for auction and *gasp!*...there will be jewels.

The Marquee Nightclub inside The Cosmopolitan Hotel felt that their V.ery I.mportant P.eople deserved more than just the typical plastic wristbands to make them feel exclusive.
For their grand opening party, they turned the velvet rope game up a notch with special wristbands made from recycled guitar strings.
Soon after, the Jason of Beverly Hills/ Vegas Boutique made them a fashion statement.

On March the 2nd, JBH will be launching a limited edition collection of diamond embelished Guitar String Jewelry at STITCHED, a menswear and "lifestyle destination" also found at The Cosmopolitan. Dunce Cap Awards: Foiled Robbery Attempt

Once upon a time, fearsome pirates would take to the sea and capture booty by force with swords and canons. Unsuspecting seamen didn't stand a chance.
Fast forward to today, these geniuses are trying to rob jewelry stores with a brick and a prayer.
Unfortunately some guy in Hollywood failed to realize that today's jewelers are packing heat to protect their booty.
See how this masked marauder managed to grab a handful of jewels and catch a bullet all in one day.

Press: Sports Business Journal

No one appreciates a championship ring more than the players who earned it. But these small symbols of victory have been gaining more attention from the public over the years as the rings are becoming grander and more like pieces of art.
Sports Business Journal featured an article this week on championship rings of years past and exactly what goes into the making of a piece of sports history. Jason of Beverly Hills had the honor of designing and manufacturing the two recent back to back championship rings for the Los Angeles Lakers and was featured in the article alongside other great designers such as Tiffany's who designed last years Super Bowl ring for the Saints.
Every year, a handful of the best jewelry manufactures in the business vie for a chance to be ones to create rings for the league champions of each sport. Once the bids go in, its all about style and substance to see who's design comes out on top.
In the article, Tim Harris, the Lakers senior vice president of business operations says, "Dr. [Jerry] Buss got him in the room, but Jason impressed us beyond anything else we saw. Everybody wants to do your ring. He just did such a great job on the first one that it wasn't a hard decision on the second."

Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur Fragrance Promo

One of our favorite clients, Rihanna debuted a beautiful new promo for her fragrance, Reb'l FleurI had a chance to give it a test run recently; its actually a very delicious scent. Definitely more pleasing to the senses than a bad flower as the name may suggest.Treat yourself ladies and gents.

Very cool concept. The New York Times reports:

For half of the one-minute video by Droga5, a Manhattan agency, Rihanna lounges in an oversize flower and glides around a lush topiary garden wearing a peach dress and smiling. Then, Alice-like, she steps through a mirror and is suddenly wearing a black dress and a come-hither expression, and is embraced by a dark stranger wearing a tuxedo.
A specially designed video player enables users to choose to run the video in either direction, which of course conveys different situations, such as the singer stepping toward the man in one mode and backing away from him in another. When the page is uploaded, the frame frozen on the video is at the 30-second point, as Rihanna’s nice and naughty personae gaze toward one another from either side of the mirror, and viewers may proceed in either direction.
You can check out the fully interactive video at www.RihannaReblFleur.com and choose to be "good or bad".

Jewelry Sales on the RISE

Is is safe to say that the recession is over?
IDEX (International Diamond Exchange) Online reports that jewelry sales have increased dramatically over the last year, reaching record numbers. This is of course in comparison to a time when the US was swimming in the red back in 2009 during one of the most bleak economic periods in our county's history.
The light at the end of the tunnel must be a flawless, brilliant cut diamond because things are apparently looking up.
